Sartana Jorge Rivero (Jorge Ribe)

Jorge Rivero states in a 2008 interview with Joseph Treviño that he made three Sartana films for Mario Siciliano in the mid 1970’s. I quote, “The powerful Roman studio offered Rivero the role of Sartana, one of many gunslinger characters, like Clint Eastwood's "Man With No Name." He starred in three Sartana films, and a producer told him, "I guarantee you that if you stay in Italy, you will never run out of work." As far as I know no record of these films exist. Does anyone know more?

  2. Said to have filmed in Almeria, and Rome. Would have had an Spanish producer as well. Probably the spanish company that made Siciliano's Evil Eye. It appears both Here Comes Sartana/Arriva Sartana (?)/Return of Sartana/Il Ritorno di Sartana(?) and Adios, Sartana/Death of Sartana/il Morte di Sartana (?) were shot and shelved when the producers ruched to make the Exorcist film Evil Eye. The spanish producer of Evil Eye died I think in 1975. I don't rember his name. Rivero thought that the negitive may have ended up in Venz.

  3. Sounds logical Mike. We've seen films made and shelved before. Probably lost forever now. Too bad someone else has stepped forward to give more detail. Thanks for what you've related.
