Honored Guest Brett Halsey/Montgomery Ford

Brett Halsey was born Charles Oliver Hand in Santa Ana, California. He’s been interested in acting since childhood and began his career as a page at CBS Television. Jack Benny and his wife Mary Livingston took him under their wing and introduced him to the head of Universal Pictures who put him in the studio’s acting school. He then went on to appear in a number of TV shows and films winning the Golden Globes 1961 award for New Star of the Year. Brett moved to Rome in 1962 an appeared in many films including Spaghetti Westerns most using the alias Montgomery Ford. “Kill Johnny Ringo” (1966), “Today We Kill, Tomorrow We Die”, “Wrath of God” both in 1968, “Kidnapping” (1969) and “Roy Colt and Winchester Jack” (1970). Brett even wrote a novel “The Magnificent Strangers” about life in Rome during the ‘60s. Returning to the U.S. Brett has starred and appeared in a number of Soap Operas, films and TV series. He continues to work and conduct acting classes. Brett will be a member of our distinguished panel of Spaghetti Western participants at the 1st Los Angeles Spaghetti Western Festival on March 19.

  1. Brett Halsey is my favorite Spaghetti Western actor besides all the actors I've seen. Or at least one of many. Keep up the good work, Brett. We love ya.
