*According to an e-mail asking Jack Betts about the making of the film he replied, “What I remember about that film is that at the last minute, Sal had a film conflict and it was never finished. I think we shot a much as we could until Sal was to have arrived. Too bad, I was looking forward to working with him.” According to Sal Mineo: a Biography  (2010) by Michael Gregg Michaud we get a little different view as according to Michaud, Sal had signed a two picture deal with Federico Topel. Sal never received the upfront money promised and after numerous phone calls and wires Sal flew to Rome when Topal sent him a round-trip ticket. After three weeks and no written contract or money in the bank Sal returned to Los Angeles and the film had to be abandoned.
