When Hidalgo, assaults a coach, taking hold of a cargo of gold belonging to the banker Teddy Ross, he and the sheriff convince El Macho, promising him a $10,000 reward, to pretend to be The Buzzard, who was killed shortly after the robbery, and in that disguise recover the stolen gold. The former girlfriend of The Buzzard, Kelly, discovers the disguise and a plot is discovered that El Macho has been tricked by Ross and the sheriff to defraud the insurance company. The tables are turned and with Kelly, El Macho will enjoy the gold of the dishonest banker.
